    • Start - Manhattan Beach Pier

    You meet on the Manhattan Beach Pier just adjacent to the bike path for the Thursday Ride.
    Head north on the bike path into Marina del Rey and up Ballona Creek. After a brief regroup at the bridge, this first segment ends at Centinela (some riders will sprint somewhere on the path to Centinela). Riders turn around and stop at the nearby wooden trellis deck for a brief respite/regroup. On the next segment riders head back over the bridge and up Pershing to Westchester Parkway. Some riders will log extra mileage by riding a fast lap around Westchester Parkway, looping back just before the Manchester intersection. Others will simply continue back toward Hermosa Beach.

    This route is ~30 miles out-n-back. Expect a Level 2 or a Level 3 pace, with Level 1 sprints (24-30mph) by some, multiple regroups and always no-drop.
     The ride typically ends with coffee/cake/ commiseration at Bonaparte's Cafe at the Hermosa Pier, or Roman Aroma on Catalina Ave.

    Some riders simply return back to CCC, for a roughly 35 mile out-n-back ride. Expect a Level 2 maybe a Level 3 pace
    Others, depending on the whims of the group, will take in climbs such as Mandeville, Amalfi, or Temescal.
    Possibly they could go on PCH to Cross Creek and back, or just do a lap around Brentwood Country Club.
    So, for these riders, mileage will be closer to 50 miles. The pace will be dictated by the riders, most likely Level 1 or Level 2.

    Volunteers are needed to help educate young bicycle riders at Birney Elementary School. The school is located at 1600 Green Lane, Redondo Beach, CA 90278.

    The event is on THURSDAY, January 24, starting at 8:00am and ending at 3:00pm.

    Three volunteer sessions are available. If you don't have time for a full day, there are morning and afternoon sessions for you to choose.

    Full session - 8:00am to 3:00pm. 

    Morning session - 8:00am to 12:00 noon.

    Afternoon Session - 11:00am to 3:00pm.

    Lunch will be available for all sessions.

    If you are a first time volunteer, not to worry! We will have one of our veterans show you the ropes. Also, if you have any health restrictions, we can assign you to an easy task: a greeter, directing the children to the various stations, etc.

    Thank you in advance for volunteering and helping to create the next generation of safe riders!

    You meet on the Manhattan Beach Pier just adjacent to the bike path for the Thursday Ride.
    Head north on the bike path into Marina del Rey and up Ballona Creek. After a brief regroup at the bridge, this first segment ends at Centinela (some riders will sprint somewhere on the path to Centinela). Riders turn around and stop at the nearby wooden trellis deck for a brief respite/regroup. On the next segment riders head back over the bridge and up Pershing to Westchester Parkway. Some riders will log extra mileage by riding a fast lap around Westchester Parkway, looping back just before the Manchester intersection. Others will simply continue back toward Hermosa Beach.

    This route is ~30 miles out-n-back. Expect a Level 2 or a Level 3 pace, with Level 1 sprints (24-30mph) by some, multiple regroups and always no-drop.
     The ride typically ends with coffee/cake/ commiseration at Bonaparte's Cafe at the Hermosa Pier, or Roman Aroma on Catalina Ave.

    Some riders simply return back to CCC, for a roughly 35 mile out-n-back ride. Expect a Level 2 maybe a Level 3 pace
    Others, depending on the whims of the group, will take in climbs such as Mandeville, Amalfi, or Temescal.
    Possibly they could go on PCH to Cross Creek and back, or just do a lap around Brentwood Country Club.
    So, for these riders, mileage will be closer to 50 miles. The pace will be dictated by the riders, most likely Level 1 or Level 2.
