Welcome to Beach Cities Cycling Club in Redondo Beach, California
Biking is even better with a group of friends by your side! That is what inspired Jim Hannon and his buddies to found the Beach Cities Cycling Club in 2006. The club continues to add members on a weekly basis, and is now the largest bike club in the South Bay area. The club’s focus on recreational cycling rather than competitive cycling, along with our emphasis on bicycle safety, is what sets us apart from other bike clubs. BCCC is a non-profit 501(3)(c) corporation, so in addition to promoting bicycling, fitness and friendship, it gives back to the community in many ways.
One of the things that makes BCCC unique is its ride leader program. The ride leaders meet on a regular basis to plan interesting and safe routes. These club members that lead the rides are trained in safe cycling techniques and what to do in case of an accident.
BCCC promotes safe and responsible cycling by providing Safe Cycling Courses for both children and adults. The classes for adults are held in the Redondo Beach area, while schools can arrange for BCCC members to come to their campus. For information on classes, you may contact Jim Hannon at email@example.com.
In addition to training people to ride safely, BCCC also advocates for more bike routes and safer streets in the South Bay. Members often speak at City Council meetings to encourage cities to provide better bicycling infrastructure by installing bike lanes and sharrows on our local roads.
Our Bike Corrals are a familiar sight at local events, such as the Fiesta Hermosa over Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. People can leave their cars at home and ride their bikes…no worries about finding a parking space! Thousands of people have taken advantage of our bike corrals, parking their bikes for free while they stroll around the fair.
Club members also give back to the community by their participation in various charity events such as the Best Buddies Ride and the Wounded Heroes Ride.
The club has a social side, too! After rides, members often gather for a post-ride meal, coffee and conversation. In addition, we have Happy Hours throughout the year, as well as our annual Holiday Party.
Beach Cities Cycling Club welcomes riders of every level. Join us if you’re looking for a group of cyclists that focuses on safe cycling, friendship and giving back to the community.
